Half Horse Half Alligator Bowie with 8.5" blade and overall, 12.5". This Half Horse Half Alligator Bowie is stamped "TILLOTSON COLUMBIA PLACE SHEFFIELD" on the ricasso. The pearl slab grips have a German Silver escutcheon on one side. This Half Horse Half Alligator Bowie has a sharp blade edge with beautiful sweeping clip point. Half Horse Half Alligator was a popular "BRAG" for men in the early 19th century. This knife saw some usage and survived in good overall condition. Has some initials scratched on the German Silver escutcheon. This Half Horse Half Alligator Bowie may have very well been whipping Yankees. I picked it up in Mississippi .... excellent place to find an Antique Bowie Knife.
