ANDREW B. CARTER enlisted in the 4th REGT. U.S. Colored Cavalry on APR. 4, 1864. the 4th U.S. Colored Cavalry was composed of African American soldiers serving in the union army during the civil war, making identified artifacts from this unit historically significant and increasingly sought after.
ANDREW B. CARTER mustered out on MAR. 20, 1866, obtained by Lucius Johnson in 1970.
