Confederate Dance Revolver from Brian Akins that checks all the boxes. This Confederate Dance Revolver was on display at the Texas Civil War Museum for 20 years. This Confederate Dance Revolver is as it left the Anderson Texas Dance Factory. Like the Macon, Georgia made Spiller & Burr Revolvers these later made Dance Revolvers used earlier parts, from revolvers that failed government inspection. This Confederate Dance Revolver is truly stunning and similar example sold for nearly quarter million dollars. Others have brought or near two hundred thousand dollars. Confederate Revolvers are the pinnacle of Confederate Collecting. Here is an opportunity to own your own piece of American, Southern, and Confederate History. This .44 caliber example was patterned after the Colt Dragoon. The original grips and holster wear tell the story. This Dance Revolver was carried and used in the Fight for States Rights. Confederate Dance Brothers Dragoon Revolver SN 298
Manufacturer: Dance Brothers/Confederate States Ordnance Works
Where manufactured: Anderson, Texas
Date of manufacture: 1864
Caliber: .44
Overall length: 14.25”
Barrel: 8”
Distinguishing features: Classic Dance Brothers copy of Colt dragoon revolver made with no
recoil shields, incised line cut around front diameter of cylinder, no knurling on hammer spur. Like
several other late serial number dragoons, earlier Columbia Texas Dance production failed parts mixed
and not renumbered to get desperately needed pistols out in functional condition.
Serial Number "298” and "85”
Other markings: none
Condition: By National Rifle Association standards: "Good-Very Good”, complete, and all original
& authentic. Overall metal has iron patina, serial numbers are all easily discerned. All parts normally
serial numbered are numbered and matching number 298 found on frame, hammer, barrel, loading
lever, plunger, cylinder, wedge (98), and latch (98). SN 85 is found on backstrap and trigger guard. Grips
are original with late Anderson elliptical profile. Mechanics are very good, well defined worn rifled bore.

as survivors. 76 dragoons are serial numbered round barrel revolvers of which 10 have mixed serial.
