Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine just arrived on consignment.  This Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine is attributed to Louis Agard.  He was a civilian interpreter for General Custer.  I am waiting on all the paperwork for this Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine.  This example has stunning Rebel Relics eye appeal.

This Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine is serial number "35235".  The serial number range is absolutely perfect for the identification and General Custer Little Big Horn Battle.  This Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine has all the original factory specs and never went back to the arsenal.  This Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine is as issued originally.  The three click tumbler works Rebel Relics awesome and notice the high arch breech.  The original cartouche is there but hard to make out.  The outline of the cartouche is strong.  The serial number is easily seen as is the Model 1873 strike.

In my opinion, Louis Agard lost his Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine.  Notice the brass "aftermarket" laugh out loud ram rod holders.  This Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine has the condition of being Native American used.  This is the Ole Rebel's opinion and accompanying documents believe it was just Louis Agard's Carbine.  This Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine has deep patina and just screams Native American captured.

This Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine has been handled by knowledgeable "experts" and was appraised by one of them at over $60,000.00 I was told.  Well, that ain't even close to Brian Akins Rebel Relics Priced, LAUGH OUT LOUD.  When all the paperwork comes in I will add the information.  This paperwork is from other people and their opinions.

This Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine is for sure right in the Custer Little Big Horn Battle Range.  It has never been back to the arsenal for upgrades.  Those two factors alone are awesome for Little Big Horn usage or at a minimum Battles before or after the Little Big Horn.  The condition and wear vote well for Native American capture and usage.  The brass ram rod modification sure smells Native American.  I doubt very seriously Uncle Sam would have proofed that alteration.  The history of these Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine examples talks about the cartridges getting stuck.  Native Americans would have wanted and maybe needed a ram rod.

Plenty more to come on this Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine.  Just waiting on all the paperwork.  I sure love this Custer Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine no matter the history or who used it.  This is another awesome Rebel Relics Brian Akins instant classic.  Rebel Relics is more than just the best in civil war relics for sale.
