Confederate "DOG RIVER" Cavalry Sword with fantastic overall condition. This Confederate "DOG RIVER" Cavalry Sword just arrived on consignment. Originally surfaced in Texas with "jawbone" Texas Cavalry usage. I have seen many swords similar to this example. An example walked into the Mississippi Show years ago with a partial leather scabbard. In my opinion, Mississippi and Texas would be the most likely States for these to have been made and issued. This Confederate "DOG RIVER" Cavalry Sword has an undisturbed peen and full-length blade. I do love the extra craftsmanship on the "D" shaped guard. The blade is roughly 28 1/2" inches long and overall little over 33" inches overall all. Original hard wood handle is very nice and tight. No wobble when swung and displays Southern as they come .... REBEL RELICS YELL.
