Confederate Richmond Sharps Carbine with nice working action. This Confederate Richmond Sharps Carbine surfaced in North Carolina. The bore has rifling but is crusty. The Richmond Sharps Carbine is one of my favorite Confederate Weapons of the War. This Confederate Richmond Sharps Carbine is serial number 1994 on the tang. The lockplate is stamped "5419". My guess this carbine was sent back to the Richmond Factory for repairs. The 1994 serial number is an early Richmond Sharps production. The lock plate number is right at the end of known production. The pitting and wear are consistent with period usage. The stock has two-digit assembly numbers as does the breech block. Forearms were known to be damaged while firing. Maybe this Richmond Sharps had damage, sent back and a new forearm and lock plate replaced. No doubt 1994 would have been sent out and saw action. When I got this Richmond Sharps Carbine it needed a breech pin and a screw. I added both and they fit great. Rear Sling swivel is "M.I.A.".

I have seen mismatched serial number Richmond Sharps for over $8,000.00. I have Rebel Relics Priced this Richmond Sharps with detractions in mind. There is some obvious replaced parts and I believe explainable period replacement parts. Feel free to text Brian Akins with any questions. Later this evening an appointment can be set up to discuss all the details of this Confederate Carbine.
