The blade is a Southern Blacksmith crafted beauty. This Southern Blacksmith was a Knife Maker for sure. Checkout the "ricasso" on this blade and the Spanish Notch style craftsmanship. The quillon is my all-time favorite, just love the design. The soft metal ferrule is perfect and nicely peened. The sheath is picture perfect with cross hatching and lead riveted. The tin toe gives this sheath the Rebel Relics look we love. All original and complete Confederate D-Guards are scarce.
