First Model Trapdoor Carbine in original issue condition. This First Model Trapdoor Carbine was no doubt captured by the Native Americans. First Models not lost, destroyed, or captured were sent back to the Arsenal and modified. This is an as originally issued carbine with "no brainer" Native American usage. The original long wrist stock shows extensive wear consistent with Native American usage. This First Model Trapdoor could have been captured at The Battle of Rosebud Creek by Crazy Horse and his band. Very well could have been used against Custer at the Little Big Horn. I have lots of close serial numbers taken from Native Americans at their surrender. Check out the images and enjoy.
