Civil War Southern D-Guard with perfect patina. This Civil War Southern D-Guard was blacksmith crafted from an 1840 Model Ames sword blade. The D-Guard was expertly done, and I love the tight curl on the quillon. No doubt the South was in need of arms. This is an excellent example of the Souths plight to fight the invading army.

This is more than a cut down sword. This guard was crafted for the blade just like any other Confederate D-Guard. I love cut down and altered weapons. Patina is the key to make sure authentic and not a backyard hacksaw job. This Civil War Southern D-Guard has stunning 1861 condition and eye appeal. Check out the images.
