Virginia Naval Eagle Head Sword

Virginia Naval Eagle Head Sword with maker and "NORFOLK VA" on the ricasso. This Model 1841 naval Sword is a scarce example. I have seen these swords priced thousands more. This one has its original scabbard, but the top two brass mounts have been replaced during the period. The blade is very nice with "ANCHOR' and floral design. The cross guard is beautiful with original gold wash. Eagle Head Swords are one of my favorites of the Antebellum Period. Check out the images and enjoy.
