The Spencer Carbine is a seven shot repeater.  The cartridges are loaded from the butt through the center of the stock.  A captured Rebel Soldier is quoted saying after the battle of Gettysburg “Spencer Carbine load in the morning and fire all day.”  The Spencer Carbine even got the personal thumbs up from Ole Honest Abe Lincoln.  Custer’s 5th Michigan Cavalry was armed with these carbines at The Battle of Gettysburg.  The Spencer Carbine was widely used during the Native American Indian Wars.  The cartridge used is known to collectors as the #56 or 56-56 being 52 caliber.  The Spencer Carbine has iron hardware and walnut stock.  The action is worked by the combination trigger guard and loading lever.
