Civil War Relics Confederate Mississippi Monster

Civil War Relics Confederate Mississippi Monster with “LT. ALLEN ARNOLD 1ST MIF (MISS) LT. ARTY’Y SOUTHRONS FIGHT” blade inscribed.  This Civil War Relics Confederate Mississippi Monster could very well be a one of a kind example.  My thoughts this unit may have had these made just for them by a wealthy Southern Family.  This one may be the only surviving example.  The blade is over 27″ inches long.  It is a single edged blade with a 4 1/2″ inch false edge.  It truly looks like a huge Confederate Side Knife like the Leech & Rigdon Bowies.  My guess this Civil War Relics Confederate Mississippi Monster was made by Thomas Leech and Charles Rigdon of Memphis Novelty Works.  The handle is the style used on the Confederate Short Artillery Swords.  There are known Confederate Bowie Knives made by Leech & Rigdon using these handles.  This Civil War Relics Confederate Mississippi Monster is one very exciting Confederate Artifact.

This Civil War Relics Confederate Mississippi Monster has it’s original tin scabbard.  I know it just keeps getting better and better.  Civil War Relics from Rebel Relics are always exciting but, this is next level cool.  Where else you get the opportunity at an identified, one of one, Confederate blade, and Rebel Relics Priced.  The patina on the brass sand cast handle is finger licking good.

This Confederate Blade reminds me of the Jeff Davis Artillery Swords.  They were also custom made for a particular Confederate Unit.  The blade is made just like an Antique Bowie Knife.  It has a spine and not a double edge like an artillery sword.  This truly could be the longest Antique Bowie Knife in the World.  It also could have been used as a sword.  If you own one of the super scarce Jeff Davis Artillery Swords this would be a Stunning Brother.  Author of the book “Confederate Bowie Knives” Josh Phillips and I drooled all over this Confederate Blade this weekend at the show.  I will add more pictures soon.  It was raining this morning and did not get to take more pictures.

If you thought you were the collector who had it all …. Rebel Yell.  If your an advanced collector and always looking for the next extremely rare Rebel Relics Treasure, call me.  This is one for the discriminating collector who wants the best of the best.  If your love is Mississippi Civil War you should be excited.  I only wish it had a Tennessee Rebel blade inscription.  It would be in my house until my graduation day.
