Civil War Relics Confederate Sword

Civil War Relics Confederate Sword with it’s original belt.  This Civil War Relics Confederate Sword was brought into a museum first.  The museum could not purchase it and the seller’s brought it to the Wheaton Illinois Civil War Relics Show to me.  This was many, many, many years ago.  I have not attended that show in several years.  The curator of the museum sent them my way and I purchased it.

This Civil War Relics Confederate Sword is beautiful.  I love the condition of the original leather and wire.  The scabbard still has original lacquer and no issues.  The Southern lap seam on the scabbard is amazing.  The brass hardware has all the crude but crisp Southern casting Traits.  The blade on the sword is Rebel Relics Strong.  When I sold purchased this sword it was still attached to the belt from the Civil War.  The soldier’s name is scratched on the back of the belt buckle.  The family told me his name and I found his name scratch carved on the buckle.  He was a Virginia Cavalry Trooper.  The identification is as good as it gets.  That said, I have added no charge to this grouping money wise for the identification.  This Civil War Relics Confederate Sword is a top notch example.  The belt has a beautiful patina.  The leather is strong and ready for display.  I have published a bunch of pictures of this rig.  This is what makes Civil War Relics Collecting fun.  I will give the identification to interested buyers.  I am working from home today and the paperwork is at the shop.  Be Monday before I can get his name.  One of the downsides of two offices …. keeping up with stuff.  LOL.
