Confederate Spun Hook Belt Buckle

Confederate Spun Hook Belt Buckle on original leather belt.  This Confederate Spun Hook Belt Buckle is gorgeous.  Confederate Buckles are one of the most sought after artifacts in Civil War Relics Collecting.  This Confederate Spun Hook Belt Buckle is an instant Rebel Relics Classic.  This Confederate Buckle has a gorgeous “Rebel Brass” patina.  You can see the Southern Sand casting crude but crisp.  The brass has that high copper red look we love on our Rebel Relics.  This Confederate Spun Hook Belt Buckle is a Western Theater plate.  I personally believe these to be one of the prettiest Civil War Relics.  This Confederate Buckle is fresh to the market.  It is out of an old collection.  The original leather belt fits like a glove.  The ghost outline shows the belt has been trimmed.  I photographed the back and you can tell the leather was crudely trimmed at some point.  The leather belt has the often seen “Southern Initials” carved on the back.  It is possible that the original issued belt wore out and the soldier replaced with this one in the field.  I photographed the belt where the hooks go to show the wear and fit.  The top belt hook has a casting flaw right at the end.  I also photographed the casting flaw.  It made the hook just a hair shorter than the other one.  I truly love this Confederate Spun Hook Belt Buckle.  I believe this to be a correct as worn Confederate Buckle and belt.  You will not find a nicer example.  The patina shows off the Southern Sand casting.  The finishing is crude and the detail is crisp.  The spun hooks show the lathe marks.  That is where this buckle gets it’s nick name “spun hook”.  Civil War Relics are a beautiful window into history.  This Confederate Spun Hook Belt Buckle will add a Rebel Yell to any collection.  I believe this to be an investment quality Rebel Relics Confederate Buckle.  If you been a fan of  The Rebel long you know I don’t type that often.  Civil War Relics are fun and exciting.  I am updating this late on a Saturday evening because I got excited looking at it.  Not many things better than Civil War Relics, fire place burning, adult beverage, and being home.  If this Confederate Spun Hook Belt Buckle has got you doing the Rebel Relics Strut yell at a Rebel.  Check out the pictures and thank you for supporting the site.  I love my job and feel Blessed to do it.
