The Palmetto Armory Pistol

The Palmetto Armory Pistol is an early sign of what was to come.  The Palmetto Armory Pistol was one of the first Southern Pistols of Independence.  South Carolina wanted to make it’s own firearms.  I mean what Southern Rebel Man wants a pistol with New York on it.  William M. Glaze was a true Southerner and he spear headed the movement.  William Glaze was a quite the entrepreneur.  He had his hand in  many ventures.  He was also a member of the Richland Light Dragoons.  The Palmetto Armory Pistol is truly as Southern as it gets.  Everything about these Southern Pistols is Dixie.

This Palmetto Armory Pistol is strong.  The lock plate is nicely marked.  The barrel proofs are visible.  The Wm. Glaze & Co mark is also strong on the left barrel flat.  The brass has some casting flaws like the Southern casted brass.  The hammer has a period brass braze repair.  I have been told these pistols were made from condemned parts.  Maybe that explains the hammer repair and the brass casting.  The wood pistol stock is strong with no repairs.  The lock plate is nicely marked.  The barrel date is clear and visible.  I do love the Palmetto Tree on the barrel.  If I lived in South Carolina I would have to have a collection of these Palmetto Armory Pistols.  The Palmetto Armory Pistol is truly a Historical Southern Treasure.  I have priced this one with The World Famous Rebel Relics Pricing.
