American Military “FOLK ART” Cheese Box Canteen

American Military “FOLK ART” Cheese Box Canteen with painted design.  This American Military “FOLK ART” Cheese Box Canteen is painted green.  The milky green has black and gold painted rings.  The center of the canteen is painted black with star design.  The star is encircled with small circles.  This American Military “FOLK ART” Cheese Box Canteen measures roughly 6 1/4 inches across the face.  The width is a little over 2 inches.  This American Military “FOLK ART” Cheese Box Canteen has all three of the original leather sling loops.  This is a solid example with normal wear and some paint loss.  The paint loss looks to be from rubbing while being carried.  Early American wood canteens are very collectible.  I am doing 20 plus shows a year and lucky to see three for sale.  The eye appeal on these is excellent.  Collectors love the folk art look and classy style.  I can see this Rebel Relics gem displayed with your flintlock pistol.
